A native of South Carolina, Dr. Rose brings both a wealth of experience and unique southern hospitality to Broad Street Veterinary Hospital. He is known by his clients not only for his dedication to patient care but also for his friendly approach and ability to put even the most nervous of pets at ease.

From a young age, Dr. Rose knew that he wanted to become a veterinarian.  After graduating from Anderson College and Clemson University, Dr. Rose earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia. Shortly after his graduation in 1972, he was hired at Broad Street Veterinary Hospital. Years later he became the practice owner. Since then, he has provided compassionate care for thousands of pets and their families.

Dr. Rose now lives outside of Richmond with his wife, Betty. He also has two sons, Ashton and Darren. The bond between pets and their families is one that he understands personally.

"When we don’t have children, our pets are our children.
When we do, our pets take second place...
but when our children leave home, our pets become our children again.
They are our family.”
